Fr Dermot Death Notice

Very Reverend Dermot LEYCOCK, Pastor Emeritus (Church of the Guardian Angels, Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock, formerly of Killarney, late of the parishes of Killester and Marino and former Chaplain of Mountjoy Prison) March 23, 2025. Peacefully, at his residence. Beloved son of the late Francis and Teresa Leycock, loving brother of Antoinette Harnett, Gwen O'Shea, Miriam Heneghan, and the late Carmel Houlihan. Very sadly missed by his sisters, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, many colleagues and friends, especially Marie Therese Pierce, who worked with Fr. Dermot for many years and cared for him during his illness, Archbishop Dermot Farrell, Bishop Donal Roche, Fr. Philip Bradley, Canon Anthony Gaughan, Fr. Bill Fortune and Fr. Michael Murtagh.

May he rest in peace.

Removal on Wednesday evening (26th March) to the Church of the Guardian Angels, Newtownpark Avenue arriving at 5pm

Funeral on Thursday morning (27th March) after 10am Mass to Shanganagh Cemetery. For those that cannot attend, the Mass can be viewed online using the following link:https://mcn.live/Camera/church-of-the-guardian-angels-blackrock-dublin.

In Foxrock Church at last Sunday's Masses, we had a speaker from Community Connect, (Google them) a Charity that supports pregnant and young mothers with essential Child Care needs. The speaker mentioned the difficulty experienced by pregnant and very young mothers in paying for basic health and hygiene products.
